Time leaves its mark on all of us. Wrinkles appear and our faces begin to lose their vital, youthful attractiveness.
Hyaluronic Acid, a compound found in all living things, can provide a long-lasting way to reverse this process and enjoy a healthier, more appealing look. A clear gel, injected in tiny amounts with a very thin needle, it can create volume, fill indented wrinkles, erase fine lines and give lips a plumper contour. Its ability to integrate with adjacent tissues means vital elements like oxygen and hormones pass between fragments of the gel. The result is healthy skin and a glowing, energetic appearance.
While not permanent, hyaluronic acid is long-lasting and may be easily maintained with occasional follow-up injections.
Treatment with hyaluronic acid usually takes less than thirty minutes. For wrinkle treatments no anaesthetic is required, although it can be arranged at your request. Lip enhancement is usually performed under local anaestheic.
Results are immediate and reactions to treatment are mild. Common injection-related reactions include swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration and tenderness of the implant site. These typically resolve spontaneously in a day or two after injections into the skin and within one week after injection into the lips.
Other reactions are very rare (about 1 in 2,000 treated patients) and include swelling at the implant site and occasionally surrounding tissue, redness, tenderness and acne-like formations. These reactions typically begin a few days to four weeks after treatment and last an average of two weeks.
